Staybridge Suites Midland – Operations Manager OEM
This position is directed and supervised by a Department Head or General Manager. The primary responsibilities focus on routine operational tasks and supervising others in their operational assignments. Additional duties may be assigned as required by the business and/or training for career advancement. The Operations Manager OEM supports key functional areas including Housekeeping, Engineering/Maintenance, Food & Beverage, PBX, Bell staff, Front Office, and Banquets.
Qualifications
At least 3 years progressive experience in a Rooms or F&B department Hotel; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 to 2 years' experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a Hotel; or a 2-year college degree and at least 2 years of experience in a Rooms or F&B department at a Hotel.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Proficient in Windows Operating Systems.
Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
Maintains composure and objectivity under pressure.
Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
Assimilates complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and considers, adjusts, or modifies to meet constraints of the particular need.
Effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
Can work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
Conveys information and ideas clearly.
Responsibilities
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, in compliance with dress code and nametag requirements.
Ensure adherence to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Comply with certification requirements (Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR & First Aid).
Supervise and support the Engineering and Housekeeping departments in the absence of the General Manager.
Assist in creating an environment where employees make empowered decisions to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist the General Manager with the creation of financial reports as required by the Corporate Office.
Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
Ensure training in service standards is taking place in each department.
Assist in recruiting, hiring and training for Guest Services as needed.
Participate in weekly meetings with Front Desk to address oversell settings and react accordingly.
Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focused on the guest.
Assist with maintaining compliance with Preventative Maintenance and Deep Cleaning Programs.
Guarantee employees are friendly, efficient in interactions with guests and coworkers.
Be familiar with SOPs in all Operations departments.
Promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees according to SOPs.
Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train others.
Relocation to another property may be required for promotional opportunities.
Be present in public areas during peak times, greeting guests and offering assistance as needed.
Maintain procedures for handling of the hotel safe with regard to security.
Attend all scheduled meetings when scheduled.
