The maintenance Lead is the technical leader and the maintenance system owner for the portion/line. He/She is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses, building capability in operating teams, and implementing, maintaining and continuously improving the DMSs they own. They own Defect Handling, Breakdown Elimination, Costs Control, Work Execution, Preventive Maintenance and Lubrication in their assigned area(s) and provide a continuity link to the MRE pillar. The Lead ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and timely, assists team members with technical issues, inspects work, and tracks/logs time, materials, and other resources. Crucial Duties And Responsibilities Work with all departments to meet or surpass the plant’s safety goals. Serve on a Safety Team as co-leader or participant. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process. Have good knowledge of SAP. Scope the full extent of maintenance work needed for repairs, preventive, predictive and design‑out activities on plant equipment. Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work. Purchase all vital parts, equipment, services and documentation required. Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect‑free work quality. Build, support and work as a key stakeholder on the TRIOS team targeting downtime and required repairs. Review and distribute workload, resolve progress and completion dates. Compile reports of WIP, inventory levels, cost, and production problems. Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables to determine personnel or material requirements. Connect with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss necessary changes. Communicate with personnel, vendors and customers to resolve complaints or eliminate delays. Own the KPI and 52‑week plan in their area. Provide leadership to the team and assist in the development and participation in Green Room process improvement meetings. Mentor and train all technicians assigned in the area. Verify work orders are properly filled, time managed and parts checked out of the stockroom. Perform other duties as assigned. Understand and follow company and site policies and procedures on GMPs, Hold Tags, HACCP, USDA, Foreign Objects, Safety and Security. Must have held the position of Maintenance Technician for a minimum of one year. Physical Considerations Requires frequent walking and extended periods of standing. Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. Ability to climb. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (steel‑toed shoes, hair and beard nets, bump caps, gloves, eye protection, aprons, etc.). Working in a GMP environment. Non‑temperature controlled environment. May be requested to work occasional overtime (including weekends). Schedules may change based on business needs. Other Considerations Must be comfortable working on a tablet/computer. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must work well both as an individual contributor and as a team member.
