Position Description At PCX Aerosystems, we’re more than just a manufacturer—we’re a mission‑driven partner to leading aerospace OEMs and the U.S. Government. As a premier supplier of flight‑critical mechanical systems and structures, we support programs ranging from rotorcraft and fixed‑wing aircraft to satellites and space vehicles.
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. In this role, you’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery—including mechanical and electrical systems—to keep our operations running smoothly.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Perform mechanical repairs and rebuilds on all machines.
Perform machine leveling and alignment on all machines.
Pull and replace machine linear guides and ball screws.
Work with complex NC machines up to and including 5‑axis.
Diagnose, locate, and correct malfunctions of electrical and electronic systems such as machine controls, recorders, servo/axis drives, servo motors, defective transformers, relays, contactors, fuses, sensors, etc.
Knowledge of OEM machine controllers (FANUC, Siemens, and NIT).
Working knowledge of tool probing function for CNC mill machines.
Support scheduling preventive maintenance, reading reports, diagrams and drawings.
Plan, layout, and fabricate replacement parts for major rebuilding of precision machine tools where setup and operation to exacting tolerances is required.
Plan methods required to maintain, test, repair, or modify various types of industrial electronic controls and systems.
Analyze and coordinate resolutions of technical problems or assist when solving problems, including contacts outside own department as required.
Interface with manufacturers for online tech support when needed.
Work overtime as required by the company.
Recommend improved work methods and procedures, assist in training employees.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Adhere to all OSHA and EHS policies and related procedures.
Perform related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED plus 5+ years of CNC maintenance experience.
Solid mechanical background with CNC machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and PLCs.
Able to read schematics and parts drawings, perform routine preventive maintenance, and be proficient with a multimeter.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Competence in shop math, working with fractions and decimals.
Basic computer skills, MS Office proficiency, and ability to enter data in various software systems.
Desired Characteristics

Ability to analyze, rebuild, and repair NC machinery and other equipment.
Excellent customer service to co‑workers, customers, and vendors.
Collaborative and respectful of all others.
Problem‑solving ability in situations with limited standardization.
FANUC certified.

Training with Mori Seiki, Makino, Cincinnati Milacron, OKK, SNK, and Kuraki Machines.

Working knowledge of materials and supplies used in machining center equipment and building maintenance.
Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
Skills needed to operate commonly listed tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods.
Strong oral and written communication.
Follow written and oral instructions and establish effective work relationships.
Read, write, and comprehend basic English; working knowledge of hand and power tools.
Two to five years of work‑related skill, knowledge or experience is required.
