Recruiting Consultant at Zurich North America Zurich North America is currently looking for a Strategic Consultant or Project Leader for our Strategy team in Chicago/Schaumburg. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving our strategy execution priorities, lead innovation initiatives and shape business development opportunities. You will collaborate with our Business leaders on a wide variety of projects.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication and team management/interpersonal skills. The successful candidate must be highly self‑motivated and able to build strong working relationships with both Internal and External Stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

Supporting the development of corporate vision, strategies, and innovation for Zurich North American and designated business unit(s)

Facilitating and supporting strategic and/or operational projects and solving high-profile, complex problems that are important to our financial, operational, and market success

Developing market intelligence and conducting competitive landscape analyses

Evaluating business opportunities and preparing business cases from strategic, operational, and financial perspectives

Understanding key business challenges and developing fact‑based analyses, including data models, to support succinct recommendations

Working with cross‑functional teams to synthesize insights and take solutions from idea inception to testing proof of concept

Challenging traditional ways of thinking, inviting leaders and teams to look at problems from a variety of perspectives and develop innovative, forward‑thinking solutions

Facilitating the preparation of materials for key external presentations and internal business discussions

Assisting in the coordination of overall strategy and innovation priorities across Zurich North America

Training and developing more junior team members

The role will be filled at the Strategic Consultant or Project Leader level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the strategic management consulting area (Strategic Consultant)

Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of strategic management consulting (Project Leader)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in the P&C insurance industry, especially in commercial insurance, is strongly preferred

Previous experience developing growth strategies at a top‑tier consultancy or large internal consulting/strategy team is strongly preferred

MBA or Master’s Degree in an analytical field

Experience working closely with C‑suite on strategically relevant topics

Ability to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast‑paced environment

Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and advanced spreadsheet/database skills

Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the ability to adjust messages to varying levels of audience

Compensation We provide a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role. The combined salary range for this position is $94,100.00 – $203,700.00. For the Strategic Consultant, the range is $94,100.00 – $154,000.00 with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%. For the Project Leader, the range is $124,500.00 – $203,700.00 with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.

Additional rewards may encompass short‑term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education.
