Responsibilities
Assists in administrative, financial and compliance activities for assigned Principal Investigators in the Department of Biomedical Sciences for awarded contracts and grants. Provides support to department faculty, staff, and students for sponsored research fiscal activities. Advises PIs on grant and University allowability based on funding agency, University and College guidelines. Works directly with PIs to track budget, rebudgets, providing subaward documentation, budget projections in compliance with university, state, and federal rules, polices, and procedures. Assists in the timely closeout of sponsored projects. Meets monthly with Principal Investigators assigned to provide budget, compliance, and administrative status reports. Serves as liaison between department PIs and Medicine-Research Accounting regarding sponsored contract and grant activities. Provides direct support to Department of Biomedical Sciences faculty with awarded contracts and grants. Monitors encumbrances, expenditures, and account balances with supervisor, college Research Accounting and PIs. Provides guidance that directly affect salary funding allocation for Contracts and Grants. Assists in the coordination of grant relinquishments and transfers for departing and arriving faculty. Maintains purchasing, travel, and budget records for sponsored research activities serving as backup for departmental admin activities. Assists with online purchasing of supplies for department/labs. Responsible for a departmental P-Card, ensuring purchases comply with FSU and college P-Card program guidelines. Responsible for management of departmental P-Cards and ensuring appropriate documentation and timely completion of cardholder and proxy. Maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, colleagues, government, and community members. Assist with the preparation of official Research Accounting policies and information dissemination; and other duties as may be assigned by the Program Director of Post Award. Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork in accomplishing the mission and goals of the department to include participating in the delivery of administrative and academic services for special projects or in meeting key departmental deadlines. Assists with back-up duties as directed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one of year experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to five years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) This position requires successful completion of the eSPEAR Certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.
