Inventory Control Specialist – OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC
OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is the largest truck body and trailer manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. OSW’s main facility is located in the Maltby area in Snohomish County. The company has been in business for over 20 years with branches in Edmonton, Canada and Tempe, Arizona.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily cycle counts and full physical inventory as required.
Track raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods to ensure accuracy in ERP/MRP systems.
Investigate inventory discrepancies (missing, overage, damaged stock) and report root causes.
Manage and maintain the inventory system; create part numbers, update part information and bin locations.
Backflush materials to stock or production orders and verify correct quantities are consumed.
Monitor inventory levels and work with Purchasing/Planning to prevent shortages or overstock.
Ensure proper labeling and storage practices to meet quality and safety standards.
Prepare and assess inventory reports for management and support audits.
Assist in process improvements for warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy.
Assist with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
Perform other related duties as requested.
Required Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and shop leads.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve inventory discrepancies and process issues.
Ability to identify root causes and develop solutions for complex inventory and material flow challenges.
Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
Proficient keyboarding skills.
Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking, often on concrete floors.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access inventory items.
Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small items and operating inventory equipment.
Occasionally required to climb ladders or step stools to access high shelves.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations in warehouses.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Additional Job Information
Wage Expectations: $22.00 – $25.00 / hour
Pay: Non‑exempt, hourly position; paid bi‑weekly.
Typical Schedule: Five (5) eight‑hour days, Monday‑Friday.
Location: 20812 Broadway Ave; Snohomish, WA 98296.
Travel: Very minimal to none.
