Objective Under the direction of the Youth Development Coordinator, the Y-Time Lead is responsible for the supervision of Y-Time, Kids Night Out, including the day‑to‑day operations as well as the supervision and scheduling of staff schedules.
Job Responsibilities The Y-Time Evening lead works with the Youth Coordinator and Morning Y Time Lead to provide an enriching experience for the children at the YMCA. He or she works to assist in the implementation of a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children. The schedule requires availability to work evening hours (4:00pm‑8:30pm) and Saturdays – specific hours could vary.
Job Specifics
Engage with youth ages 1-12 years in a fun and safe environment
Create, implement and provide input on youth program curricula or a daily schedule plan
Create and manage programs for Kids Night Out in Daxko
Establish good rapport with parents and children
Keep accurate rosters and attendance records
Effectively communicate with supervisor, peers, parents and participants
Ensure a safe and clean environment for children
Reliably work various hours Monday - Sunday
Commit to establishing long‑term relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members and families
Essential Functions
Incorporate and model our YMCA Christian principles into your work
Ability to follow directions.
Ability to relate and communicate well with children, parents and other staff.
Must have the physical and mental ability to teach a variety of athletic and enrichment programs and move equipment as necessary (approx. 25 lbs.)
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in the event of emergency situations
Observation and oversight of group participant activities
Enforce safety regulations and behavior correction according to YMCA standards when necessary
Work well in fast‑paced environments
Establish harmonious relations with staff team, volunteers, participants/members, and local partners
Ability to lead groups of participants in activities
Requirements
Must pass YMCA background check
Completion of all job‑related trainings within 30 days of hire
CPR/First Aid or ability to acquire within 30 days of employment
Prior work experience with youth and parents preferred
At least 18 years of age
