Description The HIM Systems Manager serves as a key subject matter expert and advisor for optimizing, implementing, and supporting health information management (HIM) systems, workflows, and technologies. This role bridges the gap between HIM operations and Information Services (IS), ensuring that systems and processes align with regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and efficient clinical documentation practices.

The position collaborates with staff in HIM, Coding, and IS to monitor electronic work queues, identify missing clinical documentation, and to address and streamline electronic health record (EHR) workflow problems. The position assists with establishing new users and training HIM/Coding staff, and physicians on system applications, upgrades, electronic work queues, and HIM processes.

The position helps to monitor the accuracy, timely completion, and integrity of the health records.

Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Health Information Management required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health Information Management, with demonstrated knowledge and expertise in systems and workflows required. Strong knowledge of EHR systems, HIM technology tools, computerized chart deficiency systems, data reporting, and federal and state regulations for medical records required. Previous experience with chart analysis and auditing required. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required.
