Business Development Manager PURPLE – with offices in London, Miami, New York, Hong Kong and Los Angeles – is actively seeking a Manager of Business Development to join our New York office, working across high‑profile beauty clients to help grow PURPLE and align with our overarching business goals.

This role will work 80% of the time with the US Beauty team and 20% of the time to support general new business as required by the Head of Department.

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 / year

Key Responsibilities

Act as gatekeeper for all Beauty & Wellbeing new business enquiries, declining or progressing the conversation as appropriate.

Coordinating and orchestrating introductory calls with appropriate team members and inbound new business requests.

Participating in bi‑weekly internal new business meetings and maintaining an up‑to‑date new business tracker, in addition to weekly updates to HubSpot for reporting to Finance.

Keeping new business documents, including credentials and pitch documents, up to date.

Working with designated individuals within the Beauty department to produce successful new business pitches in line with the client brief, including:

Initial chemistry and fact‑finding meetings to identify client needs, desires and ‘what would make them happy’ beyond the written brief.

Drilling down to identify deliverables and objectives for the new business pitch.

Hosting internal idea‑generation brainstorms.

Market and competitor landscape research.

Identifying pitch team and timelines.

Working with the team to agree on format and input into the new business proposal to promote areas of ownership.

Leading pitch team including preparing the pitch team.

Following up post‑pitch for feedback.

In event of successful new business wins, you are responsible for:

Drafting and executing new business contracts to include specific objectives, specific clauses, any additional budget considerations.

Sharing signed contracts with the finance team and division heads, updating Finance on all new business wins with a pipeline of fees, how they should be charged, and where appropriate any fee split by department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

5–7 years of luxury experience and/or proven experience with securing new business.

Superior high‑level media knowledge of broadcast, print and online media.

Established understanding of influencer landscape within fashion, luxury, beauty, lifestyle, music, and culture.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional problem‑resolution skills, including the ability to think creatively and prioritize multiple assignments in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.

Ability to be a team player in an environment that requires and rewards collaboration.
