Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

We are looking to hire a

Project Finance / Renewable Energy Portfolio Manager . This exciting opportunity is to join a growing sector of the Bank’s operations.

This individual will support the origination and credit monitoring efforts in the project finance and international C&I portfolio through solid credit and structuring experience, strong underwriting and financial modeling abilities and documentation tasks. The role requires a heavy focus on credit skills to identify risks (industry and product) with specific focus on renewable energy industry knowledge. The portfolio consists of various sub‑sectors, including but not limited to solar energy, wind power, battery storage for project finance, and Pre‑NTP transactions, as well as general international C&I and fund finance lending.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support the portfolio monitoring, new business and origination functions of the Corporate and Industrial (C&I) International and Project Finance (“PF”) Business lending team by pre‑screening project finance, Pre‑NTP and other C&I transactions for general fit with BHI profile.

Underwrite new and existing credits including amendments, renewals and annual reviews in concert with the Credit Analysis Unit (CAU), including presentation of transactions to Credit Committee. As part of the underwriting process, perform profitability assessment (RAROC/RORWA), industry analysis, identify policy and guideline exceptions, identify risks and mitigants.

Actively engage in loan negotiations and manage the documentation and closing processes.

Oversee the account opening process in concert with the Client Service Associate (CSA).

Continuously assess credit risk by monitoring the credit condition of the portfolio closely via various tools, including financial spreads and preparation of monthly trend cards and quarterly tickler/dashboard reports (including but not limited to insurance, overdraft, over‑advance, past‑due field examination, borrowing base, compliance, etc.).

Accompany the Relationship Manager and actively participate in calls, site visits and lender meetings.

Work with the lending teams to identify and mitigate risks, and assist with structuring credit requests (i.e. financial covenants, term, guarantors, etc.) keeping the interests of both customer and bank in mind. Protect the Bank by providing an unbiased and objective view of the prospective borrower.

Develop financial models to best analyze transactions, stress scenarios and projections.

Maintain current knowledge of changes in regulatory environment and leading industry practices by monitoring news and other industry sources of information.

Attend Credit Committee meetings for presentation of credit approval memos.

Qualifications Needed Knowledge

Business and financial knowledge with strong understanding of Portfolio Manager responsibilities.

Strong understanding of complex project finance and C&I loan products and structures, including syndicated and highly leveraged transactions (involving LBOs, EV, etc.).

Strong background in credit/financial statement analysis, loan review, due diligence and loan documentation.

Solid knowledge of fundamental Finance and Accounting principles.

Familiarity with banking regulations (OCC and FDIC).

Must stay current on operational, product, and system changes/enhancements, as well as demonstrate good risk management decisions.

Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Experience building financial models in Excel.

Bank financial analysis and systems associated with lending (Experience in Moody’s CreditLens, Collateral Monitoring and Loan Origination systems a plus).

Developing analytical and underwriting expertise, credit quality focus.

Adaptability to changing priorities.

Ability to communicate and function professionally with all levels of personnel and business partners across the organization.

High level of organization. Detail oriented.

Skilled in managing multiple tasks requiring strong attention to detail.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, team and communication skills (written and verbal).

Comfortable working on very high profile projects.

Communication and Presentation skills (group, one on one).

Able to take

full ownership

of issues until they are completely resolved.

Self‑starter/initiative. Comfortable working with little oversight.

Team player.

Experience Required/Preferred:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience underwriting / PM of project finance/renewables transactions and corporate credits with simple and complex structures.

Education Required/Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting Economics. MBA desirable.
