Procurement Specialist – BASIS Ed
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
BASIS Ed is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to centralize purchasing across our Arizona, Texas, DC, and Louisiana schools. The role ensures compliance with state, federal, and local requirements and supports internal controls.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with the Head of Operations at BASIS schools to meet purchasing needs in a timely manner while ensuring procurement compliance.
Provide training and guidance on state, federal, and local procurement requirements.
Collaborate with accounting and business partners to respond to queries and support business operations.
Assist in the transition to E‑procurement software, training schools and central office.
Evaluate suppliers for optimal setup of supply contracts, considering cost, delivery, quality and inventory.
Participate in vendor negotiations, researching prices and coordinating contracts.
Maintain the vendor Certificate of Insurance database.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply management, business administration or high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Solid understanding of supply chain concepts and supplier analysis methods.
Self‑starter able to work independently and interface with internal teams and external partners.
Experience with internal control compliance.
Experience drafting, scheduling and evaluating RFPs.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, problem‑solving and oral communication skills.
Ability to drive results in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment while managing multiple projects.
Preferred
Experience with government procurement and grant requirements, including E‑rate.
Knowledge of Ariett/AvidXchange and ReqNet.
Professional certification such as CPSM, CPP, CSCP.
