Floor Technician – 3rd Shift
Location:
Airport & Commercial Facilities
Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years (Airport or large-scale commercial preferred)
The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining, restoring, and preserving all types of floor surfaces within high-traffic airport terminals and commercial buildings. This role requires advanced floor-care knowledge, strict adherence to safety and security protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in occupied, 24/7 operational environments. The technician must consistently deliver high-quality results while minimizing disruption to passengers, tenants, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform stripping, waxing, sealing, and burnishing of VCT and similar resilient flooring
Operate auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractors, and propane/electric equipment
Clean and maintain terrazzo, polished concrete, ceramic tile, stone, epoxy, and specialty flooring
Conduct carpet extraction, spot treatment, and bonnet cleaning as required
Apply floor finishes evenly and according to manufacturer specifications
Airport & Commercial Environment Duties
Work safely in TSA‑controlled and high‑traffic public areas
Coordinate floor work around passenger flow, flight schedules, and tenant operations
Set up proper barricades, wet‑floor signage, and safety cones at all times
Follow all airport security, badging, and access protocols
Quality & Maintenance
Inspect floor conditions and report damage, wear, or repair needs
Maintain equipment in clean, working condition
Use chemicals properly following SDS and dilution guidelines
Ensure all work meets contract specifications and quality‑control standards
Safety & Compliance
Comply with OSHA standards, airport safety rules, and company policies
Wear required PPE at all times
Maintain a clean, organized work area
Required Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of professional floor‑care experience
in airports, hospitals, universities, or large commercial facilities
Proven experience with
VCT stripping/waxing and high‑speed burnishing
Strong knowledge of floor finishes, chemicals, and equipment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
Flexible availability, including
overnights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Prior
airport floor‑care experience
Experience working in
24/7 operational facilities
Knowledge of green‑cleaning practices
Supervisor or lead technician experience
Core Competencies

Pay $19.00/hr, 3rd Shift 10pm–6:30am
