University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year. The
Radiological Scheduler
will be required to work an
8 hour day‑time shift
with varying start times based on department needs. Responsibilities
Answers a high volume of calls, working towards the goal of 9‑10 calls per hour in a professional and courteous manner. Able to schedule appointments for all modalities; schedules and reschedules for all imaging offices, making every effort to keep the workload even between all locations. Makes sure the supporting signs and symptoms match the ordered exam. Refers to an office tech for assistance if needed. Makes certain that the patient understands the necessary preparations and informs him of any required lab tests; confirms the office location/address with the caller. Obtains current insurance information and is familiar with the requirements of different insurance companies. Makes the patient aware of the potential need for referrals and/or pre‑certification. Keeps informed about changing insurance requirements and navigates the Insurance Matrix to determine which plans we participate with. Documents the patient’s record with notes supporting the conversation during the call. Knowledge of simple anatomy (e.g., abdomen, forearm, lungs). Knowledge of insurance and pre‑certification requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills. Able to work independently in a high‑call‑volume, fast‑paced environment. Team player who contributes to a professional and positive work environment.
