Opportunity Details Schedule: Monday – Friday. Hours: 8:00 AM start until work is complete (Hours vary depending on business needs).

Experience Transportation management background; strong communicator; goal‑oriented, detail‑oriented, and demonstrated leadership skills. Experience supporting warehouse associates.

Salary $54,900 – $72,700 with bonus eligibility up to 12% of the base salary.

Position Summary Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise most processes directly, including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, and workforce scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports and making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.

Major Responsibilities People

Ensure all supervisors and associates are trained, competent, and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives.

Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.

Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire.

Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards; provide coaching and counseling to associates.

Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition.

Operations

Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, and proper documentation and procedure control.

Conduct team meetings.

Evaluate and recommend changes in work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations; assist in new associate training.

Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates take time‑off or are absent.

Maintain thorough working knowledge of site operating systems to ensure compliance and correct exception resolution.

Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely, accurate manner.

Finance

Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.

Understand the relationship between decision‑making and profitability.

Closely manage associates’ working hours and activities to minimize overtime and meet or exceed productivity targets.

Safety

Ensure day‑to‑day management and associate activities align with the location safety strategy.

Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies.

Conduct safety observations.

Growth / Customer Experience

Understand location‑specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed expectations daily.

Ensure the customer knows we are committed to helping them meet their objectives.

Determine areas that could benefit from continuous improvement efforts.

Fleet/Assets

Plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment.

Work with hourly associates to ensure understanding of safe and efficient equipment operation.

Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained.

Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete.

Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with associates, leadership, and customers.

Can work efficiently and independently with strong time‑management and organizational skills.

Strong written/oral communication skills and active listening ability.

Ability to manage through problem‑solving, think critically, and make independent decisions.

Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Regular, predictable, full attendance essential.

Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and undergo drug screening.

Physical Requirements

Physical and mental demands include reading, verbal and written communication, remembering and analyzing information, and understanding instructions or guidelines.

Requires standing, walking, and sitting; frequent use of hands for touch, handling, and reaching; lift or move up to 25 lbs/12 kg occasionally.

Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
