We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional food quality, outstanding customer service, and efficient staff management. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, focused on creating a memorable dining experience for every guest.
Base Pay Range $95,000.00/yr - $98,000.00/yr
Duties
Manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Oversee food preparation and presentation to maintain high-quality standards.
Utilize POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) for efficient order processing and cash handling.
Control inventory levels and manage ordering processes to minimize waste.
Train, develop, and supervise staff to enhance customer service and food handling skills.
Conduct interviews and hire new team members to build a strong workforce.
Implement effective shift management strategies to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
Foster a positive work environment through team leadership and motivation.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to maintain satisfaction.
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Skills
Proven experience in restaurant management or similar roles within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
Experience in staff training, development, and performance evaluation.
Forecasting and budget management expertise.
Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen management.
Ability to manage inventory control efficiently while minimizing costs.
Strong leadership qualities focused on team building and motivation.
Previous experience in fine dining, casual dining, quick service, or fast food environments is advantageous.
Knowledge of culinary arts or hospitality management is preferred.
Experience with catering services or banquet management is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
