Arhaus is looking for dedicated individuals like you to join our yard management team! Gatehouse Associates are responsible for managing and documenting all trailers and visitors arriving and exiting the warehouse yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inbound – Review documentation, record trailer or container condition and visit type, and enter the visit into the online system. Work with warehouse management and office personnel to create appointments and communicate visitors arriving without an appointment. Direct visitors and drivers to the correct location within the yard. Outbound – Review documentation for outbound shipments, confirm trailer number, and ship to location. Apply seal to trailers. Systematically check out all visitors and drivers. Recordkeeping – Collaborate with the Yard Drivers to maintain electronic records of all trailers and containers in the warehouse yard.
Essential Functions and Competencies of the Position
Performing tasks in a sitting position for extended periods of time Regularly exit the gatehouse to inspect and seal inbound and outbound trailers and containers. Adapts to change quickly and easily and performs effectively during times of change; demonstrates the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively Builds respectful and effective working relationships; collaborates with others to achieve common goals Conveys information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; adjusts communication to meet the needs of the audience Demonstrates initiative by acting as a self-starter; takes on increased responsibility to enhance one’s contribution Displays a high degree of integrity, honesty and takes responsibility for one’s own actions; shows consistency between words and actions
Education, Experience and Other Qualifications
High school diploma/GED 1 - 2 years of experience in a warehouse yard or security setting preferred Valid driver’s license preferred Working knowledge of computer programs Willing to adjust schedule and hours as needed to accommodate business needs/overtime
