Inventory Logistics Specialist The Inventory Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the efficient flow of goods throughout the warehouse, including receiving, storing, tracking, and shipping products. This is a hands‑on role requiring physical labor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate warehouse technology and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming deliveries and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
Inspect goods for damage or defects, documenting findings and escalating issues when needed.
Ensure all items are logged and processed correctly in the system.
Sort, crate, and store products in designated warehouse locations.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization by date, category, and workflow priorities.
Ensure proper labeling, rotation, and adherence to storage safety standards.
Use inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) or spreadsheets to maintain accurate stock records.
Track quantities, locations, and movement of goods in real time.
Assist with routine cycle counts, full inventory audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
Work with vendors and manufacturers to purchase products and negotiate competitive pricing.
Accurately pick and pack orders based on customer or internal requirements.
Prepare shipments, including labeling, documentation, and coordination with carriers.
Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment to support operational demand.
Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or errors in the inventory workflow.
Propose and implement solutions to reduce delays, shortages, and operational issues.
Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and management to streamline logistics processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP) and warehouse tools such as barcode scanners.
Basic computer literacy, including experience with spreadsheets and data entry.
Physical Abilities
Ability to lift, move, and handle materials regularly as part of daily tasks.
Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred).
Soft Skills
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Effective verbal and written communication for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field is preferred but not required.
Relevant warehouse or logistics experience is highly valued.
On‑the‑job training or hands‑on experience may substitute for formal education.
Certifications
Industry certifications (e.g., APICS) are a plus but not required.
