HISTORY AND REQUIREMENTS

The Bureau of Personnel Management will review all State of Florida and Florida University work history in the People First system.

All required documents must be submitted; missing items may delay final review.

Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application; omission or falsification will result in elimination.

JOB DESCRIPTION The incumbent will plan and work in matters related to educator licensure regulation, investigations, case management, compliance and monitoring, data management, and the development and delivery of technical assistance programs concerning personnel matters.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare documents related to suspensions, revocations, or disciplinary actions against certified educators.

Assist investigators with scheduling, notifying, and conducting informal conferences.

Plan travel and site visits for investigations under §1012.796, F.S.

Compile backup materials, legal documents, and investigator work product for review and approval.

Acquire and compile documents for potential or pending investigations, including administrative actions by other agencies.

Assist with the preparation of documents for case closure, including processing paperwork, notices, and final storage.

Conduct DHSMV and CCIS checks and telephone interviews for investigations.

Interpret and apply statutes and rules related to the investigative process.

Maintain accurate, confidential records and documents.

Generate and distribute communications to, administrators, and district staff.

Process technical documents, paperwork, and forms.

Open, process, and close case files, ensuring all notices are made.

Research information in the Professional Practices Services Microfiche System.

Maintain a central filing system for investigative reports and docket entries.

Prepare public records requests and receive communications from the Department of Children and Families.

Answer office telephone calls, prepare mailouts, and copy documents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

LEAVE INFORMATION

Annual leave: 8.667 hours/month (0–5 years), 10.833 hours/month (5–10 years), 13 hours/month (10+ years); Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service earn 176 hours upon appointment. Subsequent increments credited on appointment anniversary.

Sick leave: 8.667 hours/month

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT All applicants for employment must undergo Level 2 background screening per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This includes Social Security verification, fingerprinting, statewide and federal criminal records checks, and local law enforcement checks. Employment or volunteer status will not be authorized until screening results are received, reviewed, and approved.
