Summary The Inventory Operations Planner is responsible for ensuring the accurately reporting of inventory usage, forecasting, physical inventory oversight, and maintaining product inventory levels to support Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. This position has direct accountability for the leadership and oversight of inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain key relationships with management and key stakeholders. Customer Service is a high priority.
Maintain and update all functional inventory areas on general communications and internal/external stakeholder inquiries in order to facilitate accurate inventory transactions and reporting. Provide Inventory training as needed; to continually improve inventory accuracy.
Direct accountability, leadership and oversight of inventory accuracy.
Responsible for maintaining data relevant to inventory planning activities including capacity, constraint, logistics, supplier, item master and location data.
Investigate stock outs and review data for accuracy. Coordinate and correct all inventory‑related issues.
Manage inventory levels to expected volume. Place orders for inventory items when needed. Manage recalls for inventory items. Investigate overstocked items and find the root cause.
Report monthly results of inventory control accuracy and impact to order fulfillment.
Cover for inventory purchasing team.
Answer SCM emails and help manage the SCM inbox.
Responsible for ensuring open orders are being investigated and closed out.
Proactively run reports for inventory transfer items.
Place credit card orders for needed supplies.Reconcile inventory discrepancies and follow up with an investigation to determine the root cause of the discrepancies.
Develop, implement, and improve inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy. Manage, analyze and reconcile inventory variances and stock outs.
Coordinate cycle counts with warehouse supervisors. Perform all preparation and execution of physical inventory.
Explore ways to improve company’s processes to become more efficient and productive.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of Alaska Tribal Health System, ANTHC, and Alaska Native culture(s).
Knowledge of Infor ERP system with a heavy emphasis on Inventory Control.
Knowledge in medical supplies purchasing.
Advanced Excel skills. Microsoft office skills.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.
Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of applications.
Minimum Education Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, procurement, business administration or related field. Progressively responsible professional work experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for college education.
Minimum Experience Qualification Non‑supervisory – Three (3) years of material, warehouse or related administrative experience and/or print production.
Required Certification Qualification Must possess an Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Certification Qualification Must be eligible for IATA and 49CFR Hazmat Certification to handle, ship and transport hazardous materials.
Additional Requirements
May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
May be called out to work off‑shift in emergency situations.
Requires frequent exposure to hazardous work environments: hazardous machinery, equipment, materials, sharp objects and infectious diseases.
According to the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain specific technical certifications.
