The Housekeeping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations in the assigned branch to create a safe, clean environment through supervising staff and by developing and implementing Association Housekeeping Leading Practices within the YMCA facilities. This is a working supervisor position reporting to the Association-wide Director of Housekeeping.
Schedule This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly). The schedule requirements are typically Monday through Friday, day shifts. There may be evenings and weekends based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate, and communicate department scheduling in assigned branches.
Manage inventory control according to core standards.
Assist in creating and consistently implementing the Leading Practice Manual.
Provide daily oversight and support of housekeeping staff and branch operations while being physically present and delivering frontline housekeeping services at least 50% of the work time.
Perform routine audits, facility cleaning, and safety inspections.
Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role‑modeling, coaching, scheduling, and ongoing development.
Create a safe environment for members, participants, and staff by cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas of the facility to meet standards of cleanliness in accordance with cleaning checklists and required safety measures.
Qualifications
2 years of previous experience in housekeeping/occupancy preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Able to work varied hours outside the normal schedule, including nights and weekends.
High school diploma or GED (some college preferred).
Knowledge of how to operate copy and fax machines.
Excellent human relations skills and the ability to maintain communication with staff and members.
