Strategic Procurement Advisor (Associate Director)-State Government Services

Join EY’s State Government Services as a Strategic Procurement Advisor (Associate Director). In this role, you will drive relationships with client procurement teams, particularly CPOs, to position EY as a trusted partner for new business, revenue expansion, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Pursuit & Commercial Excellence (P&CE) leaders, GCSPs, and account managers to prioritize accounts and opportunities where the SPA can deliver value through procurement relationships.
Develop and execute negotiation strategies with client accounts, analyzing contractual terms, pricing, and scoping issues to improve EY’s competitive position.
Provide strategic guidance to GCSPs and account managers during negotiations, assisting with Master Services Agreements, rate cards, preferred provider programs, and supplier‑enabled innovation.
Identify coaching needs and conduct training workshops for P&CE and account teams on procurement concepts, negotiation tactics, script writing, and contract term development.
Lead discussions with client procurement teams to understand their unique requirements and align EY’s solutions to their business goals.
Conduct market analysis to provide insights on emerging trends, risks, and strategic sourcing opportunities for clients.
Monitor outcomes of procurement strategies, gather client feedback, and continuously improve the approach.
Key Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and business development.
Proven success in high‑stakes negotiations and maintaining collaborative client relationships at the C‑suite level.
Deep knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and client relationship management.
Experience in consulting or advisory roles, with a record of selling complex services and solutions.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, including experience managing high‑performance teams.
Commitment to ethical procurement practices and sustainability initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

Travel as required by client location; flexible work schedule including after‑hours and virtual team collaboration.

Benefits and Compensation
Base salary range: $160,000–$308,000 for all U.S. locations; $192,000–$350,000 for New York City, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento).
Performance‑based compensation and recognition in total rewards package.
