Project Manager – Substation
Project Manager
to lead
substation design projects
ranging from 12‑kV to 500‑kV. This role will oversee all phases of project execution for both
greenfield and brownfield
substation, switching station, and collector station projects. The Project Manager reports directly to the Department Manager and is responsible for the
financial performance, schedule compliance, and overall success
of assigned projects. This position requires close collaboration with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of substation project management from concept through completion, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction management, and closeout. Prepare proposals, support client presentations, and participate in contract negotiations. Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and scope, ensuring adherence to performance goals and contractual obligations. Manage internal project financials, resource allocation, contract compliance, and risk mitigation. Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on matters related to coordination, project execution, scope management, and reporting. Establish and maintain project policies, procedures, and control systems to ensure consistent and efficient execution. Lead project teams to deliver quality outcomes that meet both client expectations and internal QA/QC requirements. Provide regular progress reports addressing cost, schedule, procurement status, safety, environmental, and technical issues. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of
seven (7) years
of experience in utility substation projects, including at least
three (3) years
in a project management role. Professional Engineer (PE)
license preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP)
certification preferred. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry professionals, government entities, and public sector clients on complex projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to travel as needed; valid drivers license required. Must meet company standards to qualify for and maintain driving privileges under the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
