Description
A warehouse team leader is responsible for supervising the day‑to‑day activities of team members employed to work on a given project in an organization, to ensure operations run seamlessly.
Responsibilities
Receiving and Put‑away all inbound freight according to procedural standards.
Picking and Shipping customers' orders, as well as 3PL items, in accordance with procedural standards.
Product distribution to and from manufacturing.
Ensure warehouse stocking area is clean and well‑maintained, in accordance with federal, state, and local safety rules.
Step in to resolve conflicts that may arise between workers on site, and exhibit good sense of judgment to ensure that parties involved are treated fairly without bias.
Act as middleman between management and workers to facilitate good communication and resolution of complaints.
Check all outgoing stocks to ensure they are in good condition and that all documents are accurately signed for proper documentation.
Ensure that stock inventory is carried out in a timely manner and that it is in line with the stock balance to avoid mix‑ups.
Organization
Receives and tags items in the warehouse with barcode labels, pallet tags, allergen stickers, etc.
Ensures stocked items are organized, allergen separated and readily accessible.
Stock Inspection
Examines items in inventory for defects, damage and reports this information to Inventory Control Department.
Reports any and all quality defects of ingredients to the Quality Control team.
Requirements
Must have RF scanning system knowledge.
Previously trained to operate reach and hi‑lows.
Knowledge of FIFO system.
Ability to work off pick lists and system‑driven reports.
Ability to multi‑task.
Strong communication skills; verbally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
Ability to build excellent working relationships and work collaboratively and efficiently with others.
Exhibit self‑motivation, confidence, energy, and ability to operate under pressure.
Detail‑oriented with standard mathematical acumen.
Sound understanding and application of safety rules and regulations.
Ability to use warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft software, e.g., Word, Excel.
Standard ability to apply general mathematical concepts.
Work Environment
Dry, refrigerated and freezer conditions.
Regularly works near moving machinery and mechanical parts, sometimes in high places.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
Products manufactured in the facility may contain peanuts, milk and tree nuts.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the production shift. Also required to talk and listen.
Frequently required to sit; climb; balance; stoop; and kneel or crouch.
Regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Experience / Qualifications
High School Diploma and one year warehousing operation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to include two (5) years of experience using a forklift and reach truck and knowledge of experience using order picker and scissor lift.
Four years minimum experience with RF scanning systems.
