The Opportunity:

CoinDesk Indices is seeking an Index Product Specialist to build the next generation of financial products. This high‑impact position places you as the strategic bridge across our most critical functions at the dynamic nexus of sales, index operations, quantitative research, and technology. Your expertise will unify the entire product lifecycle, taking ideas from initial concept and rigorous definition through launch, ongoing analysis and strategic enhancement. Your work will shape products that help define and structure the digital asset market.

We’re looking for a sharp, driven professional with in‑depth knowledge of index products, methodologies and financial markets. Success in this role demands exceptional data analysis skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate complex quantitative data into clear, actionable requirements.

What You’ll Do

Index Product Development & Management

Translate high‑level concepts into detailed product specifications, including rules, data inputs and precise calculation logic, ensuring industry adherence.

Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation, such as methodology documents, fact sheets and presentation materials.

Manage the backlog for new indices and enhancements, prioritizing features and initiatives based on strategic business value.

Review and approve user stories, technical specifications and test cases while reporting on progress and adjusting the pipeline to meet business needs.

Index Research, Analysis & Performance Testing

Research and assess new product feasibility, data requirements, scale potential, market demand and build/maintenance requirements.

Support index back‑testing and simulation by analyzing financial data (market data, corporate actions and constituent‑level data).

Evaluate the impact of different data inputs and rules on index performance, characteristics and turnover.

Develop and maintain analyses and insights on CoinDesk Indices’ flagship products (e.g., CoinDesk 20, CoinDesk 5) to support client requests.

Data Integrity & Validation

Perform rigorous quality assurance and validation of index calculations and data outputs.

Identify and troubleshoot data anomalies, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the index data.

Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

Analyze the competitive positioning of our products and identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings and regulations in the index and ETF landscape.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration

Serve as the primary liaison between sales and index operations teams, translating product definitions into clear, actionable requirements.

Present index concepts, analysis and performance to internal and external stakeholders.

Support Sales Leads by participating in client meetings and exchanging ideas.

Coordinate and lead training sessions to ensure users are well versed in new products and features.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all product definitions meet regulatory requirements.

What You Have

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or a quantitative field.

4+ years of experience in a product management, product specialist, or data analysis role within the financial services industry.

Demonstrable experience with index‑based products; ETFs, mutual funds or structured products.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial data and market dynamics.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R or similar).

Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas for a wide range of audiences.

Salary: $155,000 – $185,000 plus discretionary annual target bonus and performance incentives/benefits. Offered salary will be reflective of job‑related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
