The ITC Capital Projects Supervisor will lead and manage a team of Project Controls Specialists to forecast, budget, and schedule capital projects, ensuring timely delivery and financial control.
Responsibilities
Oversee a team of Project Controls Specialists focused on forecasting, budgeting, and scheduling tasks related to the execution of capital projects.
Coach, mentor, train, develop, motivate, and supervise staff and contractors.
Assign and review work and appraise employees.
Monitor the budget, cost, and forecast of the ITC operating companies' capital construction programs.
Coordinate and assist Engineering Project Managers with monthly schedule updates and financial forecasting of capital construction programs.
Lead the preparation of detailed project status reports for management and external stakeholders.
Provide feedback and data on the status of capital construction programs within the ITC organization and participate in external forums discussing capital expenditures.
Aid in "after the fact" project cost and schedule reviews to inform changes to future cost estimating or forecasting activities.
Aid in the development of policies, procedures, and tools to improve the monitoring and control of capital project schedules and costs.
Aid in prioritizing department initiatives and setting department goals to align with corporate values and department needs.
Facilitate the Capital Projects Review and Approvals section of the Capital Committee meetings.
Aid and help oversee Capital Project Management System (CPMS) systems such as Unifier and Primavera P6; sponsor modifications to the software systems and monitor implementation when approved.
Attend meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skill; recommend training sessions for the group.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or relevant field; Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Manager or Project Controls Specialist; eight (8) years preferred.
Experience with cost estimating and/or cost controls preferred.
Working knowledge of transmission electric utility system operations, planning, protection, design, project management, construction and/or maintenance functions preferred. Intermediate knowledge of project scheduling and budgeting tools (e.g., Microsoft Projects or Primavera); advanced knowledge preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
Demonstrated ability to understand Supply Chain and Accounting software tools.
Possess sound analytical problem‑solving and documentation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.
Ability to work cross‑functionally within the organization.
Ability to multi‑task and work under minimal supervision in a team environment.
