Senior Maintenance Technician – Niagara Bottling

Responsibilities
Ensure equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair of all equipment failures.
Share knowledge of all production equipment to the maintenance team and operators.
Act as a subject matter expert on at least one equipment area (injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers).
Perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment (chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, water filtration, general plant maintenance).
Collaborate directly with maintenance technicians, machine operators, supervisors, and managers to resolve mechanical issues.
Develop and implement best practices aligned with Niagara’s maintenance strategies.
Champion continuous improvement efforts and assist with training in designated focus areas.
Adhere to highest standards in safety and good manufacturing practices plant-wide.
Train and lead operators, mechanics and supervisors on technical procedures related to high‑speed bottle manufacturing and packaging.
Work with plant leadership on continuous improvement projects.
Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize downtime with root cause analysis.
Partner with cross‑functional engineering to resolve cross‑functional problems.
Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like‑new status during planned downtime.
Transfer knowledge to Niagara team members for bottling production specialization:
Blow molding (PET processing, machine set‑up, mold changes, quality inspection).
Filling/capping (beverage processing, cap feeding, vision inspection, laser coders, quality/sanitation, conveying).
Labeling technology (roll‑fed and cut transfer, machine set‑up, hot melt gluing, conveying).
Dry‑end packaging (case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers).
Injection technology (Husky injection molding, auxiliary systems, mold systems, blank).
Qualifications
Minimum 6 years experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
Minimum 6 years experience in the position.
Minimum 4 years experience managing people/projects.
Experience may include combination of work experience and education.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments and levels.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
Skilled in use of shop equipment (hydraulic/mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, power tools).
Proficient in precision measuring equipment (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine center.
Preferred 10+ years experience in maintenance manufacturing environment.
Preferred 10+ years experience in the position.
Preferred 6 years experience managing people/projects.
Preferred 4 years experience with Krones, Husky, Sidel, or other bottling equipment.
Preferred 1 year of experience leading and developing others on the functionality and repair of equipment.
Preferred 2 years experience creating process improvements or continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred skill in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, stick).
Preferred skill working with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power.
Preferred ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams.
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Associate’s Degree in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, or related specialization.
Typical Compensation Range $38.95 - $55.51 per hour.
