Project Manager (Omaha) – Turner Construction
Turner Construction Company invites you to join our Omaha office as a Project Manager. The role is essential for delivering high‑performance commercial construction across the region.
Position Overview Based in Omaha, NE, the Project Manager leads day‑to‑day project operations, ensures stakeholder satisfaction, and drives safety and quality excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the development of high‑performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
Manage and develop assigned staff toward maximum job performance and career potential.
Develop and improve client relationships, fostering a “trusted advisor” status.
Understand and administer Turner’s contract and subcontract agreements.
Provide leadership to positively influence change.
Promote Turner’s involvement in the community to build strategic relationships.
Foster and enhance architect, subcontractor, and vendor relations.
Establish, update, and communicate the Master Project Schedule and manage its implementation.
Collaborate with the preconstruction team in project development.
Manage budget and financial reporting, ensuring adherence to project budget.
Manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
Lead risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
Advise on Turner’s business ethics and compliance programs.
Mentor staff to uphold high standards of accountability and integrity.
Oversee field operation and engineering processes and procedures.
Drive competencies for insurance, labor relations, and employee relations.
Enforce safety protocols by the project staff.
Coordinate with Finance on Pay Application processes.
Keep management informed on project progress through Operations Review Meetings.
Support Turner initiatives and promote emerging technologies for competitive advantage.
Foster a diverse and inclusive environment.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of ten years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Proven knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles. Advanced presentation skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong written and verbal communication, and an ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, negotiate work areas. Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hands used for handling items, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasional lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment Work site locations involve moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather, and risk of electrical shock. Noise moderate to very loud.
Benefits and Compensation Competitive salary range $75,000.00‑$115,000.00. Salaried, exempt, full‑time, regular, experienced classification. Turner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
