Join Waste Pro as a key maintenance leader responsible for maximizing fleet performance. If you excel in heavy equipment diagnostics, repair, and team development, this role puts you at the center of planning, training, and maintaining equipment to our industry-leading standards. This is a hands on technician roles with supervisory responsibilities.

Candidate must have vast knowledge of heavy equipment fleet maintenance management, diagnostic and repair capability, ability to plan and schedule maintenance, ability to train/mentor local maintenance support and equipment operators.

Handle daily work planning/scheduling of local operators and site personnel on equipment inspection, lubrication, problem identification etc.

Document and track all maintenance, repairs, parts ordering and 3rd party activities.

Diagnose, coordinate and/or repair equipment as needed to maintain at or above Waste Pro standards.

Support equipment operations through ongoing coaching and mentoring proper operating procedures and minor inspection/maintenance. Such as equipment cleanliness, daily blow down process, cab cleanliness etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to all Osha and company safety requirements and policy.

Teach, mentor operators on daily Pre/Post requirements, monitor quality and thoroughness.

Self-administer all purchasing, R/O's, 3rd party activities as part of the requirements.

In conjunction with onsite team, Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles, with operators or directly when higher knowledge and skill is necessary.

When repairs are completed, utilize and support local staff working in concert with your role.

Conduct on-time routine inspection in conjunction with equipment operators and/or onsite equipment support staff, Identify all defects. document findings and plan/schedule repair using dossier maintenance software.

In conjunction with the Site manager and Director of Heavy Equipment Maintenance plan/schedule found work from inspection (hereby called PMI)

Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, utilize knowledge, data and identify when/if additional support is required.

When 3rd party is utilized to confirm through inspection the work was completed to expectations and plan.

Review invoicing and work completed to provide confirmation to accounting and Director of Heavy Equipment maintenance prior to payment.

Maintain parts inventory to support routine maintenance at multiple sites

Demonstrate ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform necessary repairs utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools

Record and document the diagnoses and procedures, order necessary parts, and estimate time to complete equipment repairs

Attend and successfully completes required technician and supervisory training classes as determined by HR and Fleet Maintenance

Maintain working knowledge of the hazards and practical application of safety precautions common to equipment.

Address any safety concerns identified at sites through site manager and/Director of heavy equipment maintenance.

Maintaining a safe and clean work area including facilities, service equipment including assigned vehicle and tooling.

On-call for breakdowns. This position will be primarily first shift hours Monday -- Friday, each day is considered a 10 hr. workday.

with occasional 2nd shift overlap and occasional Saturday work depending on project schedules

Travel to other company locations for support which can include overnight stays.

Desired Skills and Experience

Strong Data integrity skills are required for entering repair orders, charging parts and labor to company owned assets

4+ years Heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience required

Must have a valid Driver's License and DOT Medical Card

Ability to read schematics to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydro-static, hydraulic, electrical, and CAN/BUS systems

Must maintain a necessary set of tools to, disassemble, and reassemble components for most equipment repairs (specialty tools are provided)

Basic oxy/acetylene cutting and welding skills

ASE Certifications Preferred not required with prerequisite experience

CDL Preferred, not required

Qualifications Other Job Responsibilities

Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.

Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.

Physically able to work in extreme temperatures and weather environments (road calls)

Work Environment

Normal setting for this job is: Inside and Outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
