Senior Quality Assurance Specialist - Solar Projects

TIR is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to support utility-scale solar projects across West Texas and Tennessee. This is a long-term contract role supporting projects from construction through commissioning, with a mix of office-based QA work and field support as needed.
This role is ideal for a seasoned QA professional with
hands-on solar construction experience
who is comfortable working independently, reviewing contractor work, and serving as a quality resource to project teams.
Candidates local to Houston, TX are preferred. However, we will also review candidates in Nashville, TN or Dallas, TX.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead quality assurance activities for solar construction and commissioning projects
Review and analyze construction and quality documentation
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and project requirements
Support field teams on active solar sites as needed
Provide QA oversight related to civil work, pile installation, and panel installation
Identify quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams
Serve as a senior QA resource and subject matter expert
What We’re Looking For
5–10+ years of quality assurance experience
Direct experience supporting utility-scale solar projects
Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, audits, and regulatory compliance
Experience with solar field construction (civil, piles, panels)
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
