Corporate Accountant
if you can:
Creates and posts complex month‑end journal entries (i.e., allocation of expenses to business units, foreign exchange income or expense, costs associated with legal reserves, pension and OPEB benefits, and other comprehensive income).
Handles intercompany transactions between the US and foreign subsidiaries.
Reviews balance sheet accounts during month‑end close and analyzes Valero’s elimination companies to understand how they are utilized to create consolidated financial statements.
Completes reports and pulls support for Corporate Reporting team, S.E.C. team and Valero’s external auditors as part of quarterly or year‑end reporting.
Assists with accounting for Valero’s consolidated joint ventures and equity method joint ventures.
Prepares various ad‑hoc reports and completes special projects.
Reconciles cash accounts and assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
Able and willing to work on‑site, in‑person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting required.
2+ years of experience in the following areas: Accounting, Public Accounting, and/or Auditing experience required.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in refining industry preferred.
CPA preferred.
