Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Lihue, HI
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Pay: $34.12 per hour
Sign on Bonus: $3,000 (at 30 days and 90 days)
Tool Box Incentive: $300 yearly allowance
Certification Bonus: up to $700 for new ASE Certification
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: First Shift 9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
Basic tools, required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems) required
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
All other certification as required by location, required
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background checks (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems, detailed inspections & repairs with minimal supervision, replacing defective components, and working unsupervised on most tasks
Performs facility maintenance duties
Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
Completes 2 of the OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
