We have an opportunity for an

Engineering Tech III

to join our

Sanford, NC

team. You will use your knowledge, skills, and effort to safely install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. You will utilize Lean tools (RCCM, 5‑whys, A3, etc.) to improve downtime trends and reduce costs. You will have the aptitude and drive to take existing processes and equipment and make improvements to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Cash metrics. In addition, you will work with limited supervision to assist with the training / development of other Techs and the development of new equipment and tooling.

You will:

Follow all Pentair and department policies and procedures.

Complete all assigned tasks in a safe, professional, and timely manner.

Work regular schedule and overtime when requested.

Improve skills and increase knowledge relating to the job.

Perform work with no supervision required.

Train others.

Key Qualifications:

Full ability to read and communicate in English

Minimum of 3‑5 years’ related work experience as a maintenance or industrial tech

Full ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, and reach with hands and arms

Full knowledge of safe work practices including but not limited to:

Hazardous materials awareness with OSHA’s Right‑to‑Know standard.

Fork truck /PIT certified

PPE requirements

Fire safety

Lockout/Tagout procedure

Hot work procedure

Full understanding of or the ability to follow Pentair’s machine guarding, new equipment, and all safety processes / standards.

Full ability to read mechanical blueprints.

Full ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.

Full ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment.

Full ability to program robots, using software or interactive programming techniques, to perform simple or complex tasks (Fanuc, Wittman, etc.).

Full ability to perform robot calibration, troubleshoot failures and implement repairs.

Responsible for maintaining and programing programable logic controllers (PLC) and computer process controls.

Full ability to identify root causes and make recommendations for improved operation.

Full ability to operate maintenance equipment including hand and power tools

Full ability to operate most diagnostic equipment including:

Digital or analog volt/amp/ohm meter.

Oscilloscope

Data logger

Thermographic camera

Electric circuit analyzers

Full computer skills to use applications such as but not limited to:

Smart Maintenance programs (Maintenance Connection / CMMS)

LabView

HMI software

PLC programming software (Automation Direct, Allen‑Bradley, Siemens)

Successfully attended, passed, or demonstrated the equivalent knowledge or skill level of at least eight of the following courses/certifications/licenses:

DC/AC Electricity, high voltage paneling, or other electrical including an Electrician’s license

Manual or CNC machining or machinist apprenticeship

Welding

HVAC

PLC, controls, or mechatronics

Hydraulics/Pneumatics

Motors and Controls

AutoCAD

Injection Molding

Other pre‑approved, job‑related activity

Ensures effective communication between shifts and team by following documentation procedures and standards.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree or a minimum of 3‑5 years related work experience as a maintenance or industrial tech.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Compensation: For this full‑time position working at this location, the anticipated hourly base pay will

$33.00 hr.

At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

Shift Hours: On‑site/ 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. plus OT and weekends if needed.
