Field Service Technician I - Clean Harbors
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Base pay range: $18.00/hr – $43.00/hr
An exciting entry‑level role within Clean Harbors’ safety‑conscious field team. The Field Service Technician I will perform tasks related to hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies and processes.
Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
Operate light‑ and heavy‑equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools that produce vibration.
Wear and properly use a variety of PPE, including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
Work in varied temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work in atmospheres and locations that may expose personnel to hazardous, toxic, or corrosive chemical and physical agents.
Work in potentially elevated noise levels and confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance.
Work at elevations, including from ladders and scaffolding.
Assist in field sampling activities and meter calibration.
Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into/out of trucks, tanks, and other containers.
Sustain extended (> 8 hrs) work periods.
Attend all compliance and safety update meetings.
Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
Safely load and unload hazardous and non‑hazardous waste.
Conduct waste‑stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Safely operate vehicles per U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Observe all company environmental health and safety guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
Participate in site remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous material handling.
Required Qualifications
Reliable transportation.
Ability to perform the physical functions required in the key responsibilities.
Agreement to be on‑call for emergency response, including weekends, holidays, and shift durations up to 12–24 hrs.
Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical as required.
Compliance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.34) and facial‑hair standards for respirator use.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver’s license.
Previous relevant labor experience.
