Mechanical Engineering Drafting Technician

Position Summary
This role is ideal for an engineering technician who loves the craft beverage industry and excels at drafting in 3D. You will draft 3D models for the design and engineering of our projects and product offerings, including production equipment used in craft beverage production plants—milling equipment, brewhouses, cellar tanks, heating sources (low‑pressure steam boilers, forced‑air burners, electric heaters), glycol chillers, and packaging equipment. Occasionally you may oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of various equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Draft P&IDs, plant layout drawings, product design drawings, product manuals, and fabrication drawings in 2D and 3D CAD, primarily using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Work with brewers and the engineering team to provide equipment recommendations and to advise on product use. Occasionally travel to job sites for installation and repair. Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Help develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Significant experience drafting in 3D using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. Basic mechanical engineering principles and calculations; general understanding of process engineering, tank fabrication, gearboxes, motors, electrical control boxes, automation, cooling/heating systems, and sanitary fabrication standards in the food and beverage industry. Relevant technical experience or significant education in pressure vessel design, process engineering, electrical engineering, automation and controls, pipe and plant design, or sanitary design. Desired Qualifications
Engineering or related technical degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of beverage production, brewing, and/or packaging processes; commercial brewing experience preferred. Experience in a relevant engineering role. Forklift, rigging, OSHA safety, first aid/CPR, welding, hazmat, confined space entry, electrician, steam, plumbing, PLC programming, quality assurance, or other certifications relevant to engineering experience.
