Basic Purpose Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse‑related equipment (pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, batteries, etc.). This keeps day and night warehouse operations functional to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of product.

Key Details Location: St. Louis, MO Schedule: Monday‑Friday 9:00 am–6:00 pm Pay: $29.50 per hour Benefits start after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, strong safety culture, and more).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on warehouse equipment.

Review equipment reports submitted by associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintain a repair log per USF policy.

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment and maintain a PM log per USF policy.

Comply with all safety guidelines (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, required documentation).

Maintain and secure the battery‑charging area, batteries, and other equipment.

Maintain company tools and maintenance equipment (inventory, safe operation, storage, security).

May purchase tools and equipment from local vendors if authorized.

Perform light maintenance duties as assigned (light bulbs, painting, storage rack repairs, light plumbing, basic drywall and concrete repairs).

Relationships Internal: Warehouse personnel and supervisory staff, Operations support, Maintenance and Sanitation personnel. External: Outside vendors.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum six months of previous mechanic experience.

Skills: Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; ability to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment; welding ability; legible reading and writing; follows orders; basic math skills; can work with little supervision.

Physical Requirements Positioning, Movement and Manipulation

Sit occasionally, stand frequently, walk frequently, drive occasionally (test drives equipment).

Lift weights: 1‑10 lbs continuously, 10‑20 lbs frequently, 25‑50 lbs occasionally, 50‑100 lbs occasionally, over 100 lbs never.

Carry: 1‑10 lbs frequently, 10‑20 lbs frequently, 25‑50 lbs occasionally, 50‑100 lbs occasionally, over 100 lbs never.

Push/pull occasionally; climb/balance occasionally; stoop/squat frequently; kneel/bend occasionally; bend frequently; reach above shoulder occasionally; grasp objects frequently; manipulate objects frequently; twisting occasionally.
