Patient Care and Prevention Facilities (PC&PF) is fundamental to the daily operations of MD Anderson Cancer Center. This department ensures all of the hospital's facilities are safe, operational, and compliant with accreditation standards. PC&PF also plays a longitudinal role for the institution in overseeing the construction of new facilities and the modernization of existing buildings through new software and monitoring initiatives. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm.
Salary Range: $57, - $72,000 - $86,500

Responsibilities
Repair and maintain electrical equipment, respond to customer calls, provide support to emergencies.
Ensure proper functioning of electrical systems and maintain O&M inventory.
Maintain and repair normal and emergency power electrical systems.
Prepare purchase requisition/stock issue forms to acquire parts and materials required to install or repair electrical equipment.
Maintain an efficient response to work orders and provide support to other crafts.
Perform preventive maintenance of all electrical panels, transformers, and other electrical systems.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment.
Provide back‑up support for the other crafts.
Participate in walk‑thru inspections of construction projects and create punch lists for discrepancies.
Maintain critical alarm systems.
Respond to all critical equipment alarms.
Interpret and work from instructions, blueprints, sketches and diagrams in the installation of electrical systems.
May coordinate the workflow of technicians and mechanics.
Investigate outages.
Report and document corrective action, labor hours, and materials used on work orders.
Timely communication to supervisor of any other issues encountered during the performance of work.
Emergency responses for facilities including code red alarms.
Other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Completion of a recognized apprenticeship.
Work Experience
Required: 1 year Post‑journeyman experience in commercial/industrial electrical work involving interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment and systems.
Licenses and Certifications
Required: Journeyman Electrician Texas or Master Electrician Texas.
Preferred: TDL – Texas Drivers License Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.
