Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a hands‑on Propulsion / Mechanical Engineer to join our team onsite in New Mexico. The ideal candidate is an early to mid‑career engineer with strong mechanical design skills, experience managing configurations, and a drive to take projects from concept through testing and validation.
This role will play a key part in the design, development, and testing of mechanical and propulsion systems across a variety of applications.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain engineering drawings and models in SolidWorks.
Support mechanical system design, fabrication, and assembly.
Plan, execute, and analyze results from component and system‑level tests.
Apply configuration management principles to ensure accuracy and traceability across design and testing documentation.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with design, manufacturing, and test engineers to ensure technical integrity and on‑time project delivery.
Support system integration efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2–6 years of professional engineering experience, preferably in propulsion, energy systems, or high‑performance mechanical design.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and associated design documentation standards.
Experience with configuration management tools and best practices.
Proven ability to execute and interpret mechanical or system‑level tests.
Strong hands‑on and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Must be able to work onsite in New Mexico (no remote option).
Preferred Skills
Experience in propulsion, thermal‑fluid systems, or rotating machinery.
Familiarity with instrumentation, data acquisition, and test stand operations.
Understanding of manufacturing processes and design‑for‑assembly principles.
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
