Team Lead - Advanced Technician, Production Operations is responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing equipment within a controlled environment. This role includes monitoring meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and other process controls to ensure compliance with production specifications. The associate performs in‑process tests, inspections, and equipment adjustments as required. Additionally, this position serves as a team leader by coordinating workflow, providing subject‑matter expertise, acting as a backup to the supervisor, and mentoring junior team members.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is part of the Beckman Coulter Microbiology Manufacturing department located in West Sacramento, CA and will be an on‑site role.
In This Role
Drive results by leading a high‑performing manufacturing team, managing daily operations, facilitating break rotations, coordinating cross‑training initiatives, and owning critical manufacturing processes within a controlled production environment.
Serve as a team leader by coordinating workflow allocation, providing subject‑matter guidance, acting as the supervisor’s backup when needed, and mentoring junior team members.
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by planning and leading cross‑functional Kaizen events.
Act as the primary point of contact for new associates, supporting their onboarding, training, and successful integration into the team.
Partner with manufacturing leadership to design, implement, and refine cross‑training programs across multiple work cells.
Build influence across diverse manufacturing areas to support team success and contribute to broader organizational goals.
The Essential Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
7+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
Willingness to work overtime during the standard workweek and occasional Saturdays as needed.
Physical, Travel, and Safety Requirements
Ability to lift up to thirty‑five pounds.
Plus – Previous Experience
Experience working in FDA‑ and/or ISO‑regulated manufacturing environments and in medical diagnostic device production.
Qualified to operate all processes within your assigned work cell, as well as at least one upstream or downstream process.
Ability to accurately record, maintain, and review production documentation in accordance with established procedures.
Compensation and Benefits The hourly range for this role is $26.00 – $29.00. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
