We are seeking a professional Structural Engineering Specialist to join our team servicing the Water/Wastewater industry in Texas or Oklahoma.
STV specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities. Our engineers work on high quality, high-profile national and international projects. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through final construction close‑out.
Responsibilities
Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards.
Develop structural engineering plans, designs, and layouts.
Provide drawings and/or sketches for designs to be incorporated into construction drawings by drafters.
Research design options.
Prepare load‑combination drawings and tables for structure manufacturers.
Review shop drawings.
Use computer‑assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents.
Attend and participate in project meetings.
Perform field activities such as observation of construction progress and existing field conditions.
Communicate project progress and issues to the design team and maintain communication with team members throughout the project.
Manage and perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Calculate structure heights and weights, concrete volumes, equipment fit‑up, or other basic tasks.
Support cost estimating with take‑offs and obtaining quotes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Successful completion of the FE exam (EIT).
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Limited travel and field work required.
Proficiency with finite element modeling software (STAAD.PRO, SAP2000 or RISA 3D), SPCOLUMN, LPILE, HILTI, Autodesk CIVIL 3D, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Autodesk REVIT is beneficial.
Candidate must be eligible for employment in the U.S., possess a valid driver’s license, and be prepared to pass periodic drug screenings and a background check.
Compensation $55,584.50 - $74,112.66
