The Shop Mechanic assists in maintenance of vehicles and machines, recordkeeping, and maximizing fleet productivity. Working under a daily schedule supplied by the Shop Manager, the role requires effective time‑management skills and strong hands‑on abilities. Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair snow or landscape equipment such as trucks, mowers, trimmers, trailers, loaders, skid steers, tractors, snow pushers, etc. Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and complete repairs including pressure washing, oil and filter changes, greasing, tire pressure and fluids. Identify and assist in developing training opportunities based on observations made from repairs. Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment, DOT records and other associated documents. Support seasonal operations such as transporting equipment, upfitting new equipment, inspecting, preventive maintenance, and organizing the yard and seasonal truck setups. Other tasks as directed by the Shop Manager. Utilize Aspire software to punch in and out of assigned tasks. Requirements
Valid driver’s license. Experience in landscaping and/or snow removal (flexible based on other qualifications). Technical aptitude toward vehicles and equipment used. Pick‑up and dump trucks. Winter equipment – skid steers, loaders, pushers and other attachments. Landscape equipment – mowers, trailers, blowers, trimmers, etc. Relevant industry certifications. Flexible working hours including occasional weekend, night work and holidays. Work Conditions
Fast paced environment. Combination of shop and field work. Field work in conditions including heat & humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold conditions. Compensation And Benefits
