Job Summary The Trimble Construction Application Specialist is the technical expert for Trimble Construction products. The role is to understand the workflows of our end customers, educate and train distribution partners on how Trimble solutions complement and optimize those workflows, and communicate with customers to identify pain points and create comprehensive solutions that may span the Trimble portfolio. Ensuring the channel can quote, install, and commission these solutions is a critical responsibility. The position works closely with sales and technical staff at distribution partners to improve technical selling processes and the after‑sales installation and commissioning phases. Additionally, collaboration with the training department determines dealer training needs and aids in developing necessary content.
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated aptitude for technology; strong technical problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable speaking to large audiences of varying backgrounds.
Can articulate the value proposition of Trimble solutions to dealers and customers.
Can both present and physically demonstrate Trimble solutions to dealers and customers.
Strong sense of urgency regarding customer solutions.
Strong writing skills, especially technical writing.
Physically capable of long hours on construction sites.
Willingness to travel, +/-50% travel expected.
Strong prioritization skills.
Provide on‑the‑job training in an organized fashion.
Strong aptitude in construction and/or survey practices.
Listens to dealers and customers about their needs and provides valuable “voice of customer” feedback to the Business Area for future development considerations.
Responsible for identifying technical gaps in the distribution channel and creating a plan to address them.
Represents Trimble during trade shows and training events throughout the year.
Assists the Trimble sales manager on the “pre‑sales” checklist to ensure all necessary information is gathered by the dealer to accurately quote and deliver solutions.
Ensures the distributor can commission and support the end customer when deploying Trimble solutions.
Works with end customers to solve pain points using Trimble offerings, integrating varying platforms into a single solution.
Builds effective relationships and works across multiple functions to resolve end‑user needs, represent challenges, and provide input for training needs.
Measures of Success
Wider segmentation of product sales within a specific dealer, indicating channel comfort and capability with all Trimble solutions.
Reduced frequency of escalated support cases as dealer knowledge increases.
Shortened beta process due to deep engagement by the Solution Application Specialist team and the dealer.
Proactive daily tasks that reduce post‑sales support burden on TFS managers.
Creation of a “Dealer Technical Staff Report Card” for each dealer in the territory, grading dealer capabilities on core Trimble solution buckets and updated quarterly to guide priorities.
Compensation Salary: $108,300.00 – $152,900.00 per annum (full‑time). Commission eligible; bonus not eligible. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, paid time off, retirement plans, tax‑advantaged health, dependent‑care, commuter, paid parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
