Salary Range:
$48,600 - $55,000 per year; DOE
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate academic advising to assigned students, supporting persistence, progression, and timely degree completion through individual and group advising interactions.
Manage an advising caseload with accuracy, responsiveness, and transparency, utilizing university systems and tools to document advising, monitor progress, and coordinate student support.
Serve as a non-supervisory operational lead for a group of advisors while maintaining direct advising responsibilities.
Identify trends in student needs, advisor feedback, workflows, and caseload data; distinguish individual issues from systemic challenges; and elevate insights with clear summaries and recommendations to the Assistant Director.
Support operational problem‑solving by proposing, testing, and documenting student-centered solutions that improve advising efficiency, consistency, and student experience.
Reinforce alignment to shared advising practices, workflows, communication standards, and college goals related to student success, persistence, coordinated care, and compliance.
Serve as a communication bridge between advisors and leadership by synthesizing updates, clarifying expectations, and facilitating solution-focused team discussions.
Collaborate with campus partners to resolve cross-functional advising and student support issues.
Support change management efforts by translating new processes or policies into clear guidance for advisors and elevating implementation feedback.
Prepare reports, documentation, and analysis related to advising trends, outcomes, and operational improvements.
Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence when addressing complex student situations or escalated concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and methods of evidence-based academic advising strategies.
Demonstrate problem‑solving skills, adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, faculty, students, administration and other interested parties.
Ability to rapidly master the essential new technology, practices, policies and methods.
Ability to prepare detailed documents, proposals, reports, and/or related materials.
Ability to provide analysis of data for identification of trends.
Ability in developing, evaluating and administering advising policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working in an environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
