Overview Join an award‑winning design and engineering firm with offices across the Southeast. The firm, based outside Atlanta, Georgia, seeks a passionate Roadway Engineer to design better communities.
Job Details Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per year Full‑time position
Responsibilities
Develop and implement detailed design plans for roadway projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and Openroads.
Conduct structural analysis and feasibility studies, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute projects from proposal through final delivery.
Oversee all project lifecycle aspects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Apply transportation engineering knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Participate in land development processes such as site planning, grading, and stormwater management design.
Ensure all designs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of roadway design or transportation engineering experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other relevant design software.
Experience with InRoads and Openroads highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of structural analysis and transportation engineering principles.
Proven project management experience with multiple concurrent projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team orientation.
Understanding of land development processes and principles.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and adaptability.
