Responsibilities
Performs installation and repair of electric motors, pumps, fans, generators, heaters, and other apparatus. Includes alignment/adjustment of motor shaft and related tasks.
Maintains electric distribution of secondary power, including circuit breakers and transformers.
Maintains tools and equipment in a safe, workman‑like manner. Reads and follows blueprints, oral instructions, and written repair orders. Records and timekeeping as required.
Opens, interprets, and repairs wiring, conduit, fittings, and fixtures in building repair and renovation, including climbing as needed. Locates power failures and short circuits in buildings, above and below ground.
Operates university vehicles and performs related work supporting Facilities Maintenance.
Qualifications
High school diploma and two years’ experience or post‑high‑school education and experience equal to two years. A relevant technical or vocational degree may substitute for experience.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
