Overview
The Dendrician Maintenance Specialist position is a labor-intensive position primarily involving the planting, maintaining, care and removal of public trees and other plant materials. The position offers a high degree of exposure to the public. The work is performed under the direction of the Tree Foreman with guidance from the Buildings and Grounds Manager. Minimum Qualifications
The Dendrician Maintenance Specialist position requires, as a minimum, an Associate Degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or other related field, and at least one year of work related experience in Forestry, Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, or a related field. A combination of professional certifications, education, and/or five (5) or more years of work related experience will also be considered. A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement and without air brake restriction is required for the position within six months of employment and a pesticide applicator's license is required within twelve months of date of employment. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
