Position Ironworker – Maintenance position in Port Allen, LA. This is a non‑exempt role, reporting directly to the Foreman.

Schedule 5/10 shift schedule

Essential Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 5 years of Ironwork experience

Knowledge of ironworker tools and how to use them

Rigging skills including wire‑rope slings

Some job sites may require NCCER certification

Written pre‑employment qualification test

Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation

Compliance with client‑specified job‑site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel‑toe boots, etc.)

Use of required safety equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

No relocation available; successful candidate must be a current resident in or near Port Allen, LA

Functional Requirements

Unload deliveries of structural material from the fabricator

Set up and break down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural‑steel members

Fasten steel members to the hoist cable and signal the operator during lift and placement

Guide or ride on members to position them accurately

Pull or pry members into approximate position while supported by hoisting device

Finalize member alignment and bolt together temporarily until permanent fastening

Cut steel members for alterations as required

Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of members, aligning holes before permanent bolting

Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement

Climbing ladders, scaffolds, and structures above and below ground level

Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, and structures

Reaching in all directions and manipulating objects and materials

Operating tools and equipment requiring coordinated eye, hand, and finger movements

Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead

Carrying tools, equipment, and other objects as required

Standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting, and crawling as necessary

Vision and hearing may be affected or corrected with appropriate aids
