Overview
The Production Associate 3 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste/cost, delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant. What you'll do
Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities Follow defined clean-up times Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies Follow an established rate defined by customer demand and standardized operations Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers Identify problems; communicate issues Assist with training co-workers Support a respectful workplace Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management Qualifications
Ability to read a tape measure as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE Variations - knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referencing Standard Work Instructions Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation Quality recognition in station quality requirements/CTQ Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly and accurately, asking questions, sharing important info Time management and awareness of cycle times Ability to perform math including fractions and decimals Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying downloads Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good posture and repetitive motion Problem solving using root cause analysis Dependability—being on time consistently Pattern/shape recognition to compare to sample drawings; monitor inventory adhering to min-max levels (WIP); utilization of scrap Record keeping: accurate, timely, legible; scrap Ability to train operators Ability to oversee multiple workstations Ability to interpret and understand schedule adherence Manage line flow Ability to lead Ability to wear required PPE (metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses) Dependability/punctuality & detail-oriented High school diploma preferred Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8–12 hours per day Ability to work in hot and cold environment Be able to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs Willing and able to cross-train in various positions and departments Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations Follow supervisors' instructions/directions as given Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and ERP functionality Additional Information
