Vorteq Coil Finishers is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Manager position at our manufacturing plant in Jackson, TN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the plant maintenance efforts, with a hands‑on approach, to ensure the facility and equipment are maintained and repaired for the smooth functioning of the company's operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Act on behalf of the General Manager to ensure that all local, state and federal environmental operating and construction permits are in order and that there are no non‑compliance issues

Promote a safe working environment by following plant safety guidelines, pointing out deficiencies, and leading by example

Lead, manage and train all staff to ensure a well‑developed maintenance team

Create a culture of continuous improvement within the department

Provide necessary feedback and discipline to maintenance personnel

Ensure that the department and each shift is staffed with personnel that have proper skills and education

Ensure 24/7 availability by phone and report in person, as needed, to ensure minimal downtime of production

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to ensure equipment operates properly, efficiently and is safe for use

Ensure that the department is outfitted with the proper tools and equipment and daily housekeeping standards are met

Oversee and approve installation and repair activities completed by any member of the maintenance team

Develop, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of equipment

Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment and mechanical systems through timely inspection, preventative maintenance and repair

Generate weekly planned maintenance work orders, track status and compliance

Work with the General Manager to plan appropriate timing of outages, installations and events that will allow the plant to meet production and cost expectations

Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure parts availability

Organise and maintain all technical documents and manuals

Maintain accurate maintenance record ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards

Ensure environmental preventative maintenance has been completed

Negotiate contracts with outside vendors, as needed, for execution of maintenance work

Attend routine management meetings to help promote continuous improvement

Perform other duties and assignments, as deemed necessary, to support the Vorteq team

Knowledge And Skills

Possess necessary knowledge of maintenance terminology and practices

Advanced understanding of industrial electronics, programmable logic controllers, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics

Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills

Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics

Effective communication and personnel management skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment

Ability to adapt to changing environments and personally assist with tasks as needed

Familiar with safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting

Proficient computer skills and ability to learn applicable company systems

Education and Experience – Required

Associate degree in a related technical field

Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience

Minimum 5 years in a maintenance management manufacturing environment

Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Experience in implementation and ability to maintain a preventative maintenance program

Education and Experience – Desired

Bachelor's degree in a related field
