Your Opportunity Stantec's New York City office seeks a Bridge Engineer to support engineering teams on large infrastructure design projects and pursuits. The Bridge Engineer will work under direct supervision of a Bridge Design Manager or Senior Structural Engineer to assist on design of projects such as bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, railroad bridge infrastructure and public spaces. Your Key Responsibilities

Develop project design deliverables including design criteria, contract design documents, design specifications, quantities and related calculations for various design projects under Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build environments.

Perform calculations independently using relevant bridge analysis and design software.

Assist in resolving complex technical problems and exercise independent decision making.

Perform construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record.

Mentor and monitor work by Structural Designers.

Assist in client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meetings, review comments etc.

Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations on various pursuits, including large Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build pursuits within the New York City Metropolitan area.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Licensed or ability to obtain the Professional Engineer license in the States of NY and NJ.

Proficiency in software such as STAAD, CSI Bridge, SAP, RISA, FBMP, PCA Structure Point Suite, MiDAS Civil, AutoDesk Structural Bridge Design, LARSA 4D, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and similar.

Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, OpenBridge and/Autodesk Construction Cloud, and MicroStation.

Proficient knowledge of bridge design and rating codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.

Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience with agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA, PANYNJ, NJ Transit, Amtrak etc. is desired.

Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent, Graduate Degree highly desired.

Minimum 5 years of experience in the structural design of bridges and transportation structures. Position will primarily work in an office setting. Pay Range

Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - $97,400.00 - $141,200.00 Annually

Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
