Job Type:

Long Term (1 Year Contract with two 1-Year Extension options).

Salary:

$65 - $80 per hour.

Job Description

Provide engineering support to superintendents and craft workers, verifying materials, equipment, workmanship, and ensuring results meet design requirements.

Ensure construction activities are executed safely, with the highest quality standards, while monitoring cost and schedule.

Coordinate all aspects of construction with design, procurement, security, safety, operations, health physics, quality control, scheduling, cost, and management.

Develop construction scope turnover packages and coordinate systems completion and test activities in support of the turnover schedule.

Direct the preparation of work packages and familiarize craft in specific work package requirements.

Maintain continuity with quality control to ensure work quality meets requirements.

Coordinate with design agencies to ensure timely issuance of new designs or design changes. Lead constructability program and provide technical expertise for construction methods and practices.

Ensure construction work is done correctly and completely; provide technical and programmatic direction to subordinate construction engineering personnel as required.

Provide construction testing and start-up services for construction projects.

Design temporary construction facilities.

Assist in establishing maintenance requirements for all permanent plant equipment.

Coordinate subcontract activities to ensure materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with contract documents.

Requirements Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5-7 years of practical experience in construction engineering or related areas.

OR Associate's degree and 7-9 years of practical experience.

OR high school diploma and 10-14 years of practical experience.

A general knowledge of system testing and operations is helpful for ensuring system turnover scope is adequate for pre-operational testing. Leadership training in methods improvement is desirable.

Candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of ASME piping codes.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform construction work planning, job hazards analysis, and material take-offs associated with installation of piping system components and equipment.

Preferred

Previous SRS experience.

Previous experience related to construction, engineering, work planning, job hazards analysis, and material procurement utilizing SRS-specific processes, programs, procedures, and systems.

Compensation & Benefits Professional Hourly Rate:

$65 - $80 per hour (negotiable based on qualifications and benefits).

401(k):

4% point-for-point contribution match after six months of employment.

Expense Reimbursement:

Available for out-of-town candidates. Reimbursement per U.S. GSA FY 2026 per diem rates for Aiken/Greenville, South Carolina ($178/day).
